EYE ULTRASONOGRAPHY

It is a test that gives us information about the structures behind the eyes with ultrasound energy.

It is especially used in cases where the posterior segment cannot be seen due to the anterior and posterior segment diseases.

It is used in intumescent cataracts, hypermeric cataracts, cortical cataracts, corneal leukomas, hemorrhage to the anterior chamber, intravitreal hemorrhages and eye traumas. It gives important information about the posterior segment (Retina, choroid, Optic nerve and Vitreous).

It is also a test that helps in diagnosing intra-globular or orbital foreign bodies.
